You can show users on a separate page or in a popup (modal)
You can create your work areas from the Department section, you can create a grid view of the people in these work areas.
You can add users' abilities social connections differently for each employee

There are 3 different components in the plugin: list, Grid list(view list) and detail.
For the grid list, create a unique content in the views section and select it in the component.
You can use id or slug fields for the route on your detail component page.
